In a chemical change energy is released in the form of splitting atoms of various elements(see hydrogen bomb)


However, physical changes can release energy and absorb enery, earthquakes are an example I can think of. They release massive amounts of energy and cause physical changes in the earth.Why is ';only chemical release or absorb energy'; a false statement?
I believe its because no energy is created or destroyed, Im sure thats also a Law in chemistry, and they dont play around with Laws. You cannot only release energy because that has to go somewhere else, and you cannot absorb energy because it has to come from somewhere, in short... net energy will always be the same, because it cannot be created nor destroyed.
