If a member of the U.S. Coast Guard makes a false statement in a criminal proceeding , can he/she be sued ?

If a member of the U.S. Coast Guard makes a false statement that leads to criminal charges against a U.S. citizen , can the Coast Guard member be sued in civil court for damages ? Can he/she be charged with a felony ?

It is my understanding that ANYONE who makes a false statement in a criminal proceeding is guilty of a felony. Im wondering if a member of the Coast Guard would be held / could be held to the same standard. If a member of the U.S. Coast Guard makes a false statement in a criminal proceeding , can he/she be sued ?
Yes, it is possible to sue someone in civil court for intentionally lying in court if the lie or lies resulted in damages (monetary or otherwise) to another party. Knowingly making a false statement under oath is a crime called perjury, and in most, if not all of the 50 states, perjury is a felony. If somebody lies under oath they are committing the crime of perjury and that person can be charged with perjury, regardless of whether that person is the President of the United States, a police officer, or a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. If a member of the U.S. Coast Guard makes a false statement in a criminal proceeding , can he/she be sued ?
uh yeah!!!! plus whatever command they are in could take disciplinary action against the person. severe disciplinary action. military personnel are far from being above the law. they have even more rules governing them
