Let me elaborate:
If I say I'm lying, am I telling the truth?
If I am, I'm lying, so am utterring a falsehood; but if I'm not telling the truth, I am lying and so I am telling the truth.Can I make a statement that is both true and false?
Well, a statement can be such that one part is true while the other is false.
For example....
I saw you coming and thought you were looking for me.
I saw you coming is true. I thought you were looking for me is just to progress conversation or could even be false... I might have thought how harried he looks!!
I know this answer sort of pours water on what you really intended to discuss. Well, there are already enough straight answers, so I thought why not!!Can I make a statement that is both true and false?
If you say you are lying, and it is true, then it may be true that you are lying even though if it is true that you are lying then you are lying. So this results in you lying and being honest at the same time. If you say you are lying, and that is a false statement, then you are indeed lying even though you are telling us you are lying which is true. Is that a good enough answer? All I have really done is explained the problem, and the basic answer is yes, you can lie and tell the truth at the same time, based upon your example.

The elaboration may be the first I've seen that makes the question make less sense. Truth is in the whole statement and it's meaning, the wording doesn't change that.

If it's indeed false, then it is true, although the statement clearly says false.

How does the officer know it is a false statement.....
If it is known to be a false statement the person making the statement can be charged with some sort of obstruction. im goin to court for an assault charge ( state vs. my friend) and im the witness bc the assault happened to me. i lied n said my friend smacked me bc i was so mad. now they are facing up to 5 years. what will my consequence be if i confess to lying? n will defense believe i lied or think im scared n takin back wat i said in fear of another attack.Charge for giving false police statement?

The defense will not care as its thier job to clear his name and by tellign the truth you would be doing this. Its the court that will have a problem. If you lied on the stand its called purgery. If you were not under oath you can still get in a little bit of trouble for filing a false complaint. There are 2 things you must do. First you must talk to a lawyer. Second you must find out from that lawyer how to clear your friend(you are morally obligated) while avoiding trouble yourself. Its definitely possible to reach a plea agreement that will let you slide if you clear his/her name. BUt again you must talk to a lawyer. If you do not at the very least simply admit you lied because you were mad. At worst you will get a slap on the wrist. Which is better than throwing a friend in jail for 5 years for no good reason, giving him a criminal record and having him on probation for years. Fix it now before it blows up, because if you dont things will only get worse.

Of course it is true. Every person in the world could have 3 meals a day ONLY using the food that the US throws out each day. The problem is logistics, governmental interference/corruption, support, and education. The costs and logistics of sending over our unwanted food is a problem....the governments that receive/distribute/or interfere with that food shipment.....the fact that we can't send food and money for the rest of our lives and our children's lives make for a difficult issue as well.....with education, people can learn to feed themselves...to teach themselves and their communities...so that they no longer have to rely on aid. Investing in sustainability is more costly in the short term, which is why we don't do it....but in the long run, it makes FAR better sense economically.

If reincarnation is real, then many of us carry no memories of our past life/lives. Some claim they do remember their previous life, or parts of it, and they may truly believe that they can, but they can't actually prove that those memories are real and that they really have been reborn. All they can do is believe and have faith that reincarnation, or any form of afterlife is real. No one, from the top scientists of the world to the top religious leaders, can actually prove it though.
There's a book called 'Journey of the Soul', can't remember the hynotherapist that wrote it but its a conglomerate of like stories told by clients 'under' who described what happened to them - their soul- upon exiting their frshly deceased body, and in great details. On a side note, the issue you're raising was also mentioned by W.V.O. A company i used to work for said I was ';terminated'; when I actually verbally quit. Also there is something from court coming up on my background check. Is there anyway to block this stuff so future employers cant see it? The termination is completely false and it looks so bad on my background when in fact it is not. What can I do to change this?

I say fake call. Have a friend call your old employer asking for your dates and reason for leaving to see what they say. Just make up a company.
