Is there a law or anything saying that a doctor can't write a false statement about you?

in a medical report. I swallowed a bottle of pills and the next day had seizures in the hospital. For some reason it was not in my urine. the doctor wrote down that i lied about taking the pills and i was banging my head against the wall. That is a total lie and i did contact the medical board. Is there a law or anything saying that a doctor can't write a false statement about you?
Doctors, like anyone else, can lie. They can also alter facts in sneaky ways. It is AGAINST their hippocratic oath, and it is highly immoral and unethical. You need to pursue your reporting of his actions. Is there a law or anything saying that a doctor can't write a false statement about you?
Indeed. You can file a suit against him, declare it as a form of malice / malicious fraud. He knew what he was writing was not true, and yet he wrote that information down anyway. That's cause for a lawsuit. You might have to find proof though...you can threaten your doctor that you'll file a suit against him, but when it comes to an exhaustion of administrative law, you need to prove you have a standing in order to truly bring up a suit. (exhaustion of administrative law means going to your local municipal building and bringing the issue up there first, to see if proximate cause can be found. Proximate cause means if a cause of action can be found, liability needs to be proven in order for a case to be brough before a trial. Cause of action is anything that causes harm to someone. And standing ultimately means your cause of action is strong enough to support a case in court have a case heard in the court). You or your parents ought to consult an attorny to see if you have a case.
If he used the word ';lied'; in your medical notes then he's a very foolish doctor indeed!

He should have simply written down that the report was inconsistent with what you remember of the event, acknowledging a seizure can affect memory and judgement. Then he can go about treating you the same way he would based on your medical need.

Sounds like he wants to be sued!

  1. Well, my doctor wrote a falls statement on my file, and I did call him and asked if could correct his statement. However, as you know that doctors never call a patient, but i did talk to his assistant who told me that he was going to confront the doctor. It is little bit over a week now, and still i have not hear anything from the doctor. The next step, I wrote him a letter and asking him to make some correction on my file. I also recall this doctor failed to come out from the surgery room to my husband. Is he going to respond to my request?
